eBooks are so exciting! The ability to carry around one device such as the iPad or Kindle with hundreds of books at the ready is amazing to me.
Recently I have jumped on this new innovation with both feet and have created a few ePubs for Apple's iBook app on the iPad. I was using Adobe's InDesign software to create high-quality ePubs. This was, to say the least, time consuming and tedious but worthwhile to see once the final product was complete. However, I was anxiously awaiting the day when Apple would give Pages the ability to export as ePub. Well, the wait is over!
Just today I ran software updates on my Macs and behold, Pages has ePub export ability! I tested it out and found it worked quickly, smoothly and created a high-quality ePub. There are a few more options within Pages now which I will review and a few tweaks to my ePubs but all-in-all, I think is marvelous.
So if you have a Mac and use Pages (http://www.apple.com/iwork/pages/) for documents, notes, etc...you can now create an ePub and put them on your iPad.
